Tsantali
privately owned vineyards (250 ha) are carefully tended under the guidance
of Tsantali's vineyardists. Additionally, Tsantali family is closely linked
with local vinegrowers that have been vigorously selected for the quality
of their wines. Tsantali desire is to produce wines echoing the uniqueness
of the terroir in which they are grown.
Agios
Pavlos in Halkidiki
The Tsantali family owns vineyards at Agios Pavlos where the white varieties
Assyrtiko, Sauvignon Blanc, Roditis and the red Cabernet Sauvignon, Xinomavro,
Merlot grow close to the sea, in a total of 20 hectares. The climate is typical
Mediterranean. The temperate sea influence pervades in this sea. The vineyards
lay on small hills and benefit from the sandy, clayey soil and the deer calcareous
sub soil.
Agion
Oros
At an altitude of 250 m lie on small hills the Tsantali vineyards (120 ha).
On the shiny slopes of Agion Oros (Mount Athos) the white varieties Athiri,
Roditis, Assyrtiko and the red varieties Xinomavro, Limnio, Grenache, Cabernet
Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc thrive. The semi mountainous area, the soil's
composition and the high index of sunshine, provide the perfect conditions
for grape maturation.
Rapsani
High on the slopes of Mt. Olympos, at an altitude of 600 m stretches Rapsani
region (50 ha), where the three red grape varieties Krassato, Stavroto and
Xinomavro grow. The climate is continental and the vineyards are positively
influenced by the breeze coming from the sea.
Naousa
The Appellation area of Naousa is the most famous wine region of Makedonia
for red wines. The Tsantali vineyards (60 ha) are situated on the southeast
slopes of Mount Vermion, at a high altitude (250-400m), well protected by
the strong and cold north winds. The harsh winters and dry to moderate summers
in this region, formulate the characteristics of the Xinomavro variety.
Maronia
Tsantali revived this vineyard in 1992 and has planted young vines on small
hills close to the sea with a southwest orientation. The climate is typical
Mediterranean. In a total of 50 hectares, the grape varieties of Roditis,
Zoumiatis, Moschatos Alexandrias, Limnio, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Grenache,
Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot are being cultivated.
