The naturally sweet Mavrodaphne wine of Patrasis made from the variety that bears its name and is characterised by its dark red colour, intense aroma and rich taste.
REGION: The Mavrodaphne variety is cultivated inthe southwestern Peloponnese in the area of Patras. The soil is clayey and chalky and the climate is warm with a great deal of rainfall throughout the year.
VARIETY: The Mavrodaphne grape is one of the most eclectic red varieties used in making naturally sweet wine and is suitable for aging.
TYPE: Red, naturally sweet. Characteristics: An intense, complex aroma that comes with aging. Refined and rich in taste. with a long aftertaste.
FOOD PAIRING: Served as an aperitif between 8° and 10° C or with dessert.
